A thin canvas bag made of organic cotton is particularly suitable for a whole loaf of bread or multiple pieces of baked goods. It replaces all plastic bags in which bread tends to mold. Conventional cotton cultivation and cotton garment production have a negative impact on the environment and on the farmers and workers who make a living in the textile industry. Cotton fields occupy less than 3% of the world's cultivated land but consume roughly 25% of all insecticides and 10% of all herbicides. Chemical substances, which are banned in food production, are massively used for growing cotton. Cotton is one of the most genetically modified plants, primarily to withstand above-average doses of chemicals. About half a kilo of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers are used to produce a single T-shirt and a pair of jeans. The cultivation and production of organic cotton prohibit the use of toxic chemicals that cause poisoning in agricultural workers and damage the environment, as well as genetically modified organisms. Certified farms strive to build a biologically diverse agricultural system and maintain soil fertility naturally. Unlike conventionally grown cotton, organic cotton does not cause allergic reactions. ECO WASHING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORGANIC COTTON: If a stain occurs on the organic cotton, treat it before washing with GALL SOAP or OLIVE SOAP WITH LEMON EXTRACT. Cotton materials appreciate washing in SOAP NUTS – they remain soft and breathable. We can also use SOAP NUT WASHING GEL. We recommend using soap slime only in the case of soft water. We recommend washing at 40 ºC. Shrinkage up to 5%. Do not use fabric softener on natural materials—it settles on the fibers and reduces absorbency.
