An elongated bag made from heavier canvas of organic cotton specifically designed for baguettes. It replaces disposable paper baguette bags. Les baguettes, c'est chouette! Size 52 x 9 x 8 cm. Organic cotton is approved for use with food. WHY ORGANIC COTTON? Conventional cotton farming and the production of cotton garments negatively impact the environment as well as the farmers and workers who rely on the textile industry. Cotton fields occupy less than 3% of the world's cultivated land but consume approximately 25% of all insecticides and 10% of all herbicides. Chemicals banned in food production are massively used in cotton cultivation. Cotton is one of the most genetically modified crops, especially to withstand above-average doses of chemicals. Producing a single t-shirt and a pair of jeans consumes around half a kilo of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. Toxic chemicals causing agricultural worker poisonings and damaging the environment, as well as genetically modified organisms, are prohibited in organic cotton farming and production. Certified farms strive to build a biologically diverse agricultural system and maintain soil fertility through natural means. Unlike conventionally grown cotton, organic cotton does not cause allergic reactions, making it suitable for children, allergy sufferers, eczema patients, and those with sensitive skin. CERTIFICATION Our hankies meet the high standards of the international organization GOTS. The cultivation of organic cotton is monitored and controlled from the seed to the final processing of the fabric, including sewing. Inspectors also oversee the social conditions of workers (video on the cultivation and production of organic cotton). Organic cotton is approved for use with food. ECO-WASHING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORGANIC COTTON: If a stain appears on organic cotton, treat it with gall soap or olive soap with lemon extract before washing. Cotton materials appreciate washing with soap nuts, remaining soft and breathable. You can also use laundry gel from soap nuts for washing. Soap scum is recommended only in the case of soft water. We recommend washing at 60 ºC. Do not use fabric softener on natural materials as it builds up on the fibers and reduces their absorbency. For the final rinse bath, use a rinse aid that flushes out the remains of detergent from the material, keeping the laundry soft and breathable (not necessary if washing with soap nuts).
